MyTapes&Discs© is a database manager for recorded media.
The software contains one program for the PalmPilot organizers and
one program for Windows 95/98/NT.
The two programs have the ability to exchange data.
Registration for the package containing both programs costs
only US$15 and is available at http://www.thinkingbytes.com

Pilot program:
Version 3.6: Main screen re-designed,
columns now can be resized by dragging the headers.
Version 3.5: Added option to list
"Start" or "Length" (recording screen.)
Version 3.4: Find feature extended - search by
artist/label/location, clear/all video/all audio.
Version 3.3.2: Fixed problem with scrollbar
Version 3.3: Main screen list now has customizable columns: title, artist, recorded time,
blank time
Also, title / artist columns can be resized
List automatically sorted by title or by artist.
Version 3.1: Added media types display selector to the main
screen.
Version 3.0: Added media types LaserDisc and DAT
Added MediaSync - import data from MyTapes&Discs for Windows 95/98/NT.
Version 2.3: Added fields to the media screen: Label,
Location, Year and Producer/Artist
Added a note field to the recording screen.
Version 2.2: Added media types LP and Single,
added preferences screen to select the way blanks are displayed
added "240" as a standard length

3. INSTALLING/UPGRADING
=======================
Install the MyTapes.prc file, and the three PDB files.
*** IMPORTANT *** : If you are upgrading from a previous version, do not install the
PDB files. This would overwrite your existing database. Install only the PRC file.

4. USING
=======

On the first screen, you will see the
lists of units you have stored on the database. Tapping
on a title will allow you to change the information for that unit.
Tapping on the new button will allow you to enter more
units.
Tapping on the search button will allow you to perform a
Power Search. |

When at the "Recordings"
screen, you may change: - the unit title.
- the title category, from the pull-down menu on the upper-right corner of the screen.
- the media length.
Tapping on the "Blank" button, will allow you to
show/hide the blank spaces you may have on this unit.
Tapping on the chart button (left-side of the "i"
button) will allow you to show/hide a graphic over the recording title representing where
each recording is located on the unit.
Tapping on the "delete" button will deleted all
the unit information.
Taping on the "New" button will allow you to add
recordings for this unit.
Tapping on each recording will alloy you to change
information for this recording. Blank media sections are only representations,
tapping on them will not result in any action other than a message.
Tapping on the "Start" or
"Length" column will switch the column contents.
If you selected to add/change a recording, you will see the
"Details" screen, where you can enter/change information for the recording. |

Searches can be customized. |

This screen will let you change the
Start/End/Length for the recording. You tap on one of the three buttons, and
change it, the other ones will be automatically adjusted. |
5. My Tapes&Discs for Windows 95/98/NT
================================
MyTapes&Discs for Windows allows you to enter/change
media information on your PC and then transfer to the
pilot program database.
Features:
- CDSync - download CD info from the internet CDDB™ database,
and catalog your CDs without typing anything.
- MediaSync - Import/Export data from/to the pilot database.
- MediaExplorer - browse your media collection
- Import data from CSV files (please check availability)
- Label print for videotapes/cassettes (please check availability)
General instructions on how to use the program:
- Enter the required information on the setup screen
- Import the pilot database
- Make changes / enter new units
- Generate the MediaSync file with the changes made and
install it on the pilot.
- Next time you run the pilot MyTapes program, it will
automatically detect the MediaSync file and import it:

7. DISTRIBUTION

This manual and all accompanying files may be distributed freely,
provided that:
- Neither text nor any other file is modified in any way. No file
may be omitted nor added in the distribution.
- No money may be charged for the program or for any accompanying
files, other than the usual downloading time fees charged by
commercial BBS's and online services.
- Please notify me if it will be included in printed matter, floppy, or
CD-ROM before its publication. I would strongly appreciate a
copy of
whatever collection in which it is included.

8. SHAREWARE/LICENSING AGREEMENT
================================
MyTapes&Discs is shareware. Registration gives you the
right to use the program
exclusively on the pilot unit identified during registration process. Registration
does not allow you to distribute the program. Each registered version is licensed
to use in only one machine.
